Musicians without Borders Palestine Project

This part of the research Dr Julie Norman seeks to generate new insights into Middle East conflict settings in relation to how processes of creativity and participation in sound interventions shape experiences, narratives, and memories of conflict. The Palestine fieldwork will explore this question through a case study of Musicians Without Borders.

The research will consist of participant observation at Musicians Without Borders program sites, including schools and youth centres, and will consist of semi-structured interviews with trainers and staff, and recording samples of the music programs.

All research will take place within the parameters of Musicians Without Borders programming, which includes music workshops with youth in schools and youth centres in the Bethlehem area.
